Which White Paint Do You Choose?

So how do you begin to choose the right "white" to paint color for your house? Believe me, the choices are endless! So many things can factor in to the way each color looks on your house so it's always best to test out your favorites on different places so that you can see how they look. Too white and you will risk blinding poor drivers as they pass by, too dark and it tends to look "muddy". We've rounded up the best white paint colors for exteriors so you can be sure you get that perfect white house you've been dreaming of.
Sherwin Williams Alabaster White (7008)
Alabaster is one of the most versatile exterior white paints out there. If it's good enough for Joanna Gaines, it's good enough for us! It's just a little creamier with neutral beige undertones and really does show up beautifully.
Benjamin Moore Super White (OC 152)
The name says it all with Super White. This is the purest white of all the BM color and has absolutely no undertones. Definitely test out this color to make sure the brightness isn't too stark for your taste.
Benjamin Moore White Dove (OC 17)
Benjamin Moore White Dove is a favorite for kitchen cabinets, but it also ranks high for exterior white paint! It has a hint of gray in it, making it slightly cooler than some of the other white paint options.
Benjamin Moore Simply White (OC 117)
Benjamin Moore Simply White is a long time favorite of many designers due to the warm nature of the paint. It remains a warm tone without being too yellow or chalky and, in turn, can be used as much on the interior of the home as the exterior!
Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace (OC 65)
Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore is another widely used color for the exterior of homes mostly because it is regarded as one of the "whitest" options for brick. The cool blue undertones bring out the crispness of the white and make it a fan favorite on popular farmhouse style homes.
Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee (OC 45)
True to its name, Swiss Coffee is a warm, creamy white. If you are looking for a crisp white, this one isn't for you. In fact, Swiss Coffee can give off a slight yellow undertone and almost gives your home a vintage, timeless look that draws buyers in to its warmth.
Benjamin Moore Cloud White (OC 130)
Cloud white is a good option because it sits right in the middle of the spectrum. Its classified as a "warm white" but still has neutral undertones. Even though the paint chip looks more off-white, on a larger scale the warmth shows and it truly is a lovely choice.
Sherwin Williams Pure White (7004)
Pure White is a favorite Sherwin Williams color for many reasons. It's not a stark white but actually has a warm softness to it. Not enough to make it creamy or yellow, but enough to remove that brightness some whites may have. On a small scale, the color may look flat but on a larger scale, it looks more pure, just not as icy or bright as some of its competitors.
As you can see, the options really are endless and we highly suggest picking your favorites, getting samples and putting them on different sides of your home. Take a look at them during different times in the day and see which ones speak to you. There is not right or wrong choice, just what is right for YOU!
