Did you know only 1% of homes are moving? Not many houses changing hands this year… It’s the lowest amount in decades! Insane isn’t it? During the first half of 2023 has seen a noticeable decrease in housing turnover. Just 14 of every 1,000 homes have changed hands compared to 19 of every 1,000 during the same period in 2019. That doesn’t sound like much of a difference but this actually shows home buyers have 28% less inventory to look at. A lot of people who got relatively low rates are just staying put if their circumstances don’t require a move. 2023 is NOT the year people move for fun. But #life people do still move despite what you hear on the news. If you’re looking for a smaller single-family home in an urban area, you know it’s tough out there in these streets and you better have a skilled agent on your team. Only 11/1000 have changed hands this year!!
